What this page covers
This policy explains how Aether ("we", "us") collects and uses information when you visit our website or apply for early access. We are committed to handling your data with care and transparency.
What we collect
Email address. When you submit the early access form, we collect the email address you provide. We use this solely to contact you about Aether and your application. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties.
Analytics. We use privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible or Fathom) to understand how visitors interact with the site. These tools do not use cookies, do not track you across sites, and do not collect personal information. We see aggregate data — page views, referral sources, scroll depth — not individual visitor profiles.
Audio fingerprints
When you upload a track to Aether, we generate an acoustic fingerprint — a compact mathematical representation of the audio's characteristics. The original audio file is not stored on our servers after fingerprinting. The fingerprint cannot be reverse-engineered into the original audio. Your music stays with you.
How we use your data
We use the information we collect to operate and improve Aether, to communicate with you about your application and the product, and to detect when your tracks are played at connected venues. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build marketing profiles. We do not share your data with third parties except where necessary to operate the service (e.g. our hosting provider and notification delivery service).
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers within the European Economic Area. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and follow industry-standard security practices. Access to personal data is restricted to team members who need it to operate the service.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us. If you are in the UK or EEA, you have rights under data protection law including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
